Release 5.1 Validation Tool

23 August 2024

We are extremely pleased to announce that we have updated the COUNTER Validation Tool to support Release 5.1 of the Code of Practice. We are very grateful to the wonderful Bernd Oberknapp for work on this Tool.

The new Validation Tool is free to use. However, you will need to create an account – just click the button below to access it.

The updated Validation Tool tests both Release 5 and Release 5.1 reports, in both tabular and JSON format. Bernd has added some new functionality to this version of the Tool. The tool now includes more options for configuring COUNTER API (sushi) requests. It also enables extra checks on the API requests.

The update is still under development. Future work planned will include support for requesting reports with common extensions, validation of the /status, /reports and /member responses from the COUNTER API (sushi), and validation of stand-alone Exception responses.

If you have any questions about the Tool or come across any issues please get in touch with tasha@countermetrics.org.
