COUNTER Newsletter, March 2025

20 March 2025

Today we have sent out our COUNTER newsletter. Here is what we said:

As always, we’ve been busy and have a lot to tell you about in this newsletter, starting with a reminder that the implementation date for Release 5.1 was on the 28th of February. Take a look at the Registry to see the full list of platforms and technology providers (data hosts) offering R5.1 reports. Audits have started for a lot of platforms, but please don’t wait for audits to be complete before harvesting your R5.1 reports, as audits can take up to six months to complete.

A second big project went live this month, in the form of a refresh of our committee structure. You can read more about that below, including how to get involved. We’ll be explaining why we’ve made the change, as well as outlining some of the new member benefits that are coming on stream later this year, at the COUNTER Conference in June.

Have your say: join a COUNTER committee

Are you part of a COUNTER member organisation? Please consider joining one of our committees!

We have updated how we work to open up opportunities for all our membership to get involved with COUNTER. As part of a COUNTER committee you can contribute your expertise and help shape the future for COUNTER.

Save the date: COUNTER Conference and AGM

The members-only COUNTER Conference will take place alongside our Annual General Meeting on Thursday 5th June 2025.

We welcome proposals for talks on measuring open access and other non-controlled content usage. Please also get in touch if you want to discuss any aspect of using or innovating with COUNTER. As a reminder, we will not consider sales pitches. Please send abstracts of no more than 200 words to sian@countermetrics.org by 28 March 2025.
