Join a focus group and help others get started with COUNTER

21 February 2025

There is still time to join a focus group and help others get started with COUNTER. Our next focus group, specifically for small and medium sized publishers, is happening on Thursday 27th February.

Libraries tell us that they want more publishers to provide COUNTER reports. However, some smaller publishers have shared challenges with meeting all the requirements of COUNTER reporting and compliance. This focus group aims to explore the main challenges faced by small and medium-sized publishers and consider some solutions to improve COUNTER involvement amongst smaller publishers.

Some of you are already COUNTER compliant while some of you are still going through the process. Wherever you are in this process we want to know what have been the main challenges and what might have helped you. Your discussions will help in engaging new publisher members and in increasing adoption of the COUNTER Code of Practice.

Future focus groups

Looking ahead, we are also planning a second focus group on GenAI, on 12th March. We want to hear from publishers of all sizes about what you are doing today and what you plan to do in this area.
