COUNTER guides are in six languages

18 July 2024

We’re regularly told that the COUNTER community values our Friendly Guides – but did you know that they are available in six languages? In addition to English, we have made these valuable educational materials available in Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.

Yuimi Hlasten at Denison College very kindly volunteered to produce Japanese translations, while the Couperin Consortium and the Canadian Research Knowledge Network collaborated to translate the Guides into French.

We also had support from three publishers who paid for translations into three more languages:

  • SpringerNature sponsored our Chinese translations
  • Thieme sponsored our German translations
  • And Gale-Cengage sponsored translations into Spanish

Can you help us do more?

The COUNTER community has members around the world. We want to ensure that the Code of Practice and related resources are as accessible and easy to use as possible to the whole community. Could you help with translating a friendly guide into a new language, or sponsoring a set of translations? If you can help, please contact tasha@countermetrics.org.
