Join the COUNTER Board

23 January 2025

We have a new opportunity to join the COUNTER Board. COUNTER’s Board of Directors make sure we are delivering on our mission and objectives. If you are enthusiastic about usage metrics and want to guide us forward, this is the perfect role for you.

About the role

  • Directors are expected to make constructive contributions to our discussions during our quarterly meetings. They may occasionally be called upon to share their expertise between meetings.
  • Directors hold their roles for three years, and may be reinstated for a second three-year term.
  • This is an unpaid role. However, if we ask you to travel for any reason then we will, of course, reimburse reasonable expenses.

Who we are looking for

  • We would love to receive nominations from an under-represented part of our membership. This might be people who are not located in the US or Europe, or people who are earlier in their careers and have not previously held senior strategic roles.
  • We welcome and encourage the nomination of individuals from diverse backgrounds. This includes but is not limited to diversity in race, ethnicity, culture, age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, geographic location, and career stage.
  • The only restriction is that candidates must be employed by or associated with a COUNTER member organisation.

What to do to join the COUNTER Board

If you’d like to be part of the team and influence the future of COUNTER, please send a short expression of interest together with your CV or LinkedIn profile to tasha@countermetrics.org by the 26th of February. The current Board of Directors will review the expressions of interest and recommend a slate of candidates for approval by the membership.
